Life at Keltic
Wednesday, July 4th, 2012
Only 108 days left in our 2012 season, I can’t believe how fast time does fly. This Canada Day celebration was wonderful with hot weather and cool sea breezes. I was very proud to be joined by the RCMP (Josh) and 80 guests for the raising of the Canada flag. We sang O’Canada together as our bellman Liam played the pipes. The tradition of that very moment made me think that each of us here wrote our place in history, in that very same place we were perpetuating a tradition which has spanned 72 years.
I notice in my blogs each week, I express how much this place means to me and my little family; however, I would love to know what the Keltic Lodge means to the people who have a connection to our property. It could be a day, or a season, a wedding or an ice cream as you passed by while touring the Cabot Trail.
To me, images say so much and conjure memories once forgotten. I welcome you all to share with me your stories and photos of Ingonish and the Keltic Lodge from any point in time. I would love to share your stories with my team here and maybe invite a couple people back this summer – come back and see what life at the Keltic means this year.

I am proud of this property and what we have accomplished, but memories come from all different sources; just yesterday a giddy wife was filming her husband on our slip and slide. I can only imagine what memories they will have of their time here. Each day, I watch people smile, explore, dine and laugh, it’s fantastic and the very reason I love what I do.
Happy Belated Canada Day Everyone!
Until next time,
Matthew Mackenzie
